Designed primarily for use with the HydroFlex HydroHead for on the water or wet filming, the HydroFlex 35-3 RemoteAquaCam represents a new approach to waterproof motion picture camera systems.

Incorporating an Arriflex 35-3 body (standard 12 volt or Pan Arri 24 volt), custom SL Cine 400 ft. magazines and Preston remote focus and iris controls, this low profile camera system fits inside an 11" diameter tube and weighs in at only 62 lbs. fully loaded. Cooke, Panavision or Zeiss spherical and anamorphic lenses can easily be fitted. Some small lightweight zoom lenses can also be used.

An air-powered rain deflector mounted on the front port ensures that water drops are cleared from the lens. Color video assist is enhanced with a frameline generator that gives the camera operator all the information needed to work in low light, wet, adverse situations. Camera speed and footage counter are also displayed on the screen. A built-in speed controller offers 10 crystal speeds: 12, 20, 24, 30, 40, 48, 60, 72, 96, and 120 FPS. Handheld operating for split-level shots is easily accomplished by floating the housing on the surface of the water. In the hand-held mode, a HydroFlex 6.4" color monitor allows the operator to set the frame while the camera assistant rolls camera, and pulls focus, iris and zoom from above water from as far as 100' away. The optional Preston Marine FI&Z hand unit gives the camera assistant camera run, focus and iris control underwater. Fully loaded, the system weighs 65lbs.out of the water and is depth rated to 100'.
