Constructed primarily of fiberglass, the complete system ­ including camera, 200 ft. magazine with film, C.E. high speed controller and battery pack ­ weighs only 36 lbs. Reflex viewing, video assist, remote camera run, and a tripod mounting plate are all standard features. When using the Arri 35-3 orientable door, the operator has the choice of reflex viewing straight back at the rear of the housing, or at a 45º angle looking down from the top of the housing. (Note: There is no video assist when using the orientable door.) Orientable, hand-grip type handles can be adjusted to accommodate the camera operatoršs style of shooting.

For above water filming in rain or wet sets, an optional lens port spray deflector system shoots air across the lens area, keeping drops of water from registering on the film. The 35-3 Surf Housing accepts Zeiss PL T1.3 and 2.1 series of lenses and Panavision spherical and anamorphic lenses.

Depth rated to only 2 ft., the 35-3 Surf is for surface shooting only.
