The Red One RemoteAquaCam is one of our most versatile underwater camera housings. It is equally at home at the end of a crane with our HydroHead for in and out of the water shots or in the hands of a free swimming underwater camera operator. In hand-held mode, the operator views the 5.6” Red HD LCD in a slim underwater housing, while HD-SDI is fed via cable to the surface for the director and DIT to call the shots and monitor the video signal.

An integral Preston Remote Lens Control System allows the camera assistant to roll camera, and pull focus, iris and zoom above water from as far as 100' away. The optional Preston Marine Hand Unit gives the camera assistant camera run, focus and iris control underwater. With this system, virtually all professional cinema prime lenses can be accommodated including even Panavision and Hawk anamorphics and many short zooms such as the Zeiss Variable Primes, Panavision Lightweight Zooms, Angenieux’s Optimo 15-40 and, of course, the Red Zooms.

The housing requires the use of the Red Top Mounts and cheese plate for 15mm iris rods (for mounting the Preston motors) and the Red Cradle to mount the Red Drive and Red Brick Battery. No base plate is necessary. Main power for the camera is supplied by a 24V block battery at the surface cabled to the Remote Aqua Cam and internally down-converted to 12V for the Red. This insures against under-powering the juice hungry system. The battery mounted on the camera serves as a back-up so that the camera never powers down during battery swap-out or in case of inadvertent battery disconnection at the surface.

Fully loaded, the system weighs 65lbs. out of the water and is depth rated to 100'.
